Moving from California to Georgia as a child Scott started riding off-road at an early age. Scott has competed in over 30 states with over four decades of off road racing experience. Years of MX and SX training resulted in multiple state and regional championships and 5 podium finishes at National Championships.
Later, as many MX'ers do, Scott switched to XC MTB racing. Scott has always loved competing off-road and mostly concentrates on MTB and Gravel racing with some road mixed in along the way. While working his way through the rankings on his way to Expert, he won multiple State and Regional Championships. In his best season, Scott had a streak of 13 consecutive wins.
In 2014 the only organized race team in his area was splitting up, so Scott started his own. The team quickly grew to 80 plus riders over the first few years. Scott took coaching training certification courses to help himself and the team riders better understand training and achieve more success. As his coaching experience and passion grew, he eventually offered his endurance and bike skills training services to non team members. The athletes he trained have had great success hitting personal goals, competing locally, regionally and all the way to the international level. Years ago, Scott went full time with Smoother Cycling Coaching and he has worked with all skill levels.
Scott had great mentors that taught him things riders with 20 years experience don't realize they donβt know. He works to pay it forward to help others enjoy and excel in the sport. Now, at 51 and with (maybe) his best racing days behind him, Scott enjoys working with riders to get them to the next level.
